Businesses, organizations, and individuals have an excellent opportunity to play a role in history while shaping the De Soto community for the future. We hope everyone alike will want to be a part of this effort.

Business and Organization Endorsements

Businesses or organizations, wishing to make large contributions, may secure an engraved 12” x 12” granite block for $500 or a 16” x 16” engraved granite block for $750, to be displayed among the red brick plaza at the floor of the memorial.

There are a limited number of gray granite benches available also, for a donation of $1000. The benches will be placed in various locations facing the memorial. The benches can also be engraved.

Significantly greater contributions will be rewarded in a manner befitting the gesture, such as sponsorship of a primary feature of the memorial site. Engraving could include the name of a business or practice, an organization, a church, etc., along with a logo if desired.

Individual Memorials

Individuals are invited to sponsor a family member or friend by purchasing a 4” x 8” brick, to be incorporated into the red brick plaza of the memorial. The price per brick is $50 and the bricks can be engraved with a worker’s name or nickname. Individuals without a family member or friend to sponsor can adopt a worker.

Anyone employed by one of the three railroads, for which our community has provided a home, can be honored in the memorial, whether they worked in De Soto or elsewhere.

For an additional $10, you will receive a certificate of sponsorship suitable for framing. This document will be a welcome addition to your family history.
